Dear Friends,
First of all, I want to wish you a balanced and a healthy year.
Winter reminds us that living slower days is not synonymous with falling behind. Rest is an act of love for our bodies, minds, and souls. Winter has the capacity to show us the beauty of being still. Rest is necessary to refill the cup.
Speaking of cups, I have been a tea drinker since I was a child, and it is my beverage of choice. But it is more than a drink: it is a ritual that connects me with the dead and the living. My godmother used to have herbs hanging in her yard and a myriad of scents flooded my nostrils as soon as I opened the door. Meaningful conversations and poems were had and written over tea. She now lives in a nursing home where tea is always served.
Reading
I am rereading a book entitled A Street Cat Named Bob. It is a book about the difficulties of life, but also about hope, and love.
Writing
I am working on a poem for submission. Despite being a magazine where I would like to see it published, I am not worried if it is not, because that does not determine my value.
Best wishes,
Raquel Dionísio Abrantes
I always enjoy your posts. Thank you for sharing; I’m so glad your grandmother is able to have tea every day.
